What is Yoga?
'yogah citta vrittinirodha'
Yoga is the stilling of the movements of the mind.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (I:2)
Through its ancient system of philosophy, physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation, yoga can bring us to a state of inner calm and peace.
Physically the practice of yoga improves muscle tone and flexibility, it also helps to ease away the aches and pains that come with the physical tension we carry around with us.
By focusing the mind on the body and the breath, yoga helps us let go of the worries that constantly churn round in our mind, relieving stress and aiding relaxation.
